Ken Vaughn Vice President of Technology
As Vice President of Technology, Ken Vaughn is responsible for BizActions information technology infrastructure. He is a Certified ColdFusion Developer with extensive experience in database architecting and interface design.
Mr. Vaughn has worked as an Applications Programmer since 1989 and as an Internet Applications Developer since 1995. He has a diverse background developing and implementing complex high-end systems and intuitive web-based applications for organizations throughout the United States. Before the advent of the web, Ken's primary work experience included the development of accounting, inventory and client management systems for insurance and retail companies in South Texas.
In 1995, in anticipation of the Web's impending explosion, Ken's focus migrated to the design and development of Internet and Intranet applications. In 1996, Ken built the first national real estate "mall" for Stewart Title using the very first release of ColdFusion. He then moved on to manage the Internet and Intranet presences for a regional HMO in Houston.
Since then, he has served as a senior web consultant for many national and international companies, including several Fortune 500 companies. During that time, Ken developed a Project Management Intranet for Enron Energy Services, a Software Repository and Document Management System for Kellogg's, and a suite of POS tools for Ford of Britain.
Before joining BizActions, Ken was the Senior Web Developer for Goodwill Industries International. While there, he was responsible for the management of multiple content-managed web sites. Ken developed custom security, added personalization functionality and improved the overall usability of the sites-all while implementing a standardized development environment.
Ken lives in Piedmont, South Carolina with his wife Heather and their animal kingdom: 14 retired racing greyhounds, 1 staghound, 2 cats, and 1.5 horses! When not buried in code and databases, Ken plays disc golf and cheers for the NHL's Dallas Stars.
