Frazier & Deeter was proud to sponsor Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2nd Annual CFO of the Year Awards on June 5th at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. In keeping with tradition, there were seven winners selected in as many categories, including: Private Company – Large, Private Company – Medium, Private Company – Small, Public Company – Large, Public Company – Medium, and Nonprofit Organization. Also, a special Community Service award was given to a CFO who has been exemplary in his or her efforts outside their traditional business role.

This year, a total of 79 nominations were received, a significant increase from last year's inaugural process, in which 46 CFOs were nominated. From these nominees, we are proud to announce the 2009 CFO of the Year Winners and Finalists.

Bill Godshall, partner at Frazier & Deeter, had the pleasure of presenting the CFO award for the Large Public Company category. Throughout the event, many talent CFOs were recognized as leaders in their fields. Congratulations to all of Frazier & Deeter's clients and contacts who were mentioned at this prestigious event!

F&D Business Development Tips

#1  As you review the winning companies and finalists, reach out to contacts or clients you may have a relationship with by dropping a personal note in the mail congratulating them on their accomplishments.

#2  When reading your local business papers or industry trade publications, take the time to clip out articles of interest to your prospects, or stories where they are mentioned. Then, send them the clipping.

Both of these activites will reinforce the perception of your interest in their business dealings.
