Jeff McCaffrey trains up his clients
There’s an old saying that if you train up your children in the way they should go, when they are old they will not depart from it. Jeff McCaffrey takes a similar approach to working with his clients. He knows that a growing organization must focus on operating smoothly. And to do this, the business must take steps to prevent financial problems. And prevention starts with understanding. And understanding starts with training. Jeff is good at simplifying an issue.
Though Jeff would not call himself a teacher, he does enjoy explaining accounting and tax issues to groups or just one-on-one with his clients. He also likes digging deep in research and special projects. And people like what Jeff presents because they always respond with positive comments. Jeff regularly presents to boards of directors, committees and seminar groups.
Jeff has been in public accounting for more than twenty years and with DMLO for seventeen. He is a Director in the firm. His focus during the course of his career has included a wide variety of for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations. He has experience working with manufacturing, commercial real estate and retail, particularly quick-serve-restaurants. He considers it important to be involved in the full range of services for his clients, so he stays up to date in both tax and accounting issues.
In more recent years, Jeff has worked extensively with not-for-profit organizations. He not only works with not-for-profit clients, he also volunteers. Jeff is a member and regular speaker for the Center for NonProfit Excellence and he is on the boards and treasurer for Preservation Kentucky and Louisville Historical League.
Jeff is a resident of Georgetown in Southern Indiana where he serves on the town council. He and his wife have three children.
