Q. Several times this year, you donate blood at the Red Cross. How much can you deduct on your tax return?

  a. $10 a pint as a business expense deduction
  b. $20 a pint as a medical expense deduction
  c. Nothing.
  d. The fair market value of the blood as a charitable deduction.

The answer is c

  Unfortunately, there is no tax break for giving blood.

  However, a donation that you make to the Red Cross by cash, check or credit card can be written off as a charitable contribution.
