It has come to our attention that some corporations that filed extension Form 853-R have received denial letters stating that their extension requests were late.  We have researched the issue and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has stated that they experienced an in-house computer error.  A miss-keyed date caused these letters to be automatically generated in error.

The Department has stated that the error has been corrected and that their system will update automatically and new, approved extension request letters are being generated and mailed to the affected corporations.  Corporations can expect these corrected letters to arrive shortly, if they have not received one already.

If you have any questions regarding the state of your extension, please feel free to contact Tax Manager, Jane McCurdy by email at jmccurdy@macpas.com or by phone at 761-7910.
