M ore than 500 bankers, sponsors and honored guests attended the Pennsylvania Bankers Association's(PBA's) Annual Convention held in May at The Ritz-Carlton at Amelia Island, Florida. Stambaugh Ness Principal Rick Hogentogler, CPA director of SN's Internal Audit Division, also attended the event.

Over the course of three days, bankers enjoyed opportunities to network with their peers, attend educational sessions, and sightsee locally.

During the annual meeting, PBA members elected their 2007-2008 PBA Board of Directors. Effective July 1, the elected are:

  -- Second vice chairman – Daniel C. Berninger, president and CEO, The Muncy Bank and Trust Company, Muncy
  -- First vice chairman – Ralph J. Papa, president of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
  -- Chairman – Robert A. Rupel, chairman, president and CEO of Lafayette Ambassador Bank, Lehigh Valley; and
  -- Past chairman – Elmer C. Laslo, president and CEO of 1st Summit Bank, Johnstown.

In his Convention remarks, Chairman Laslo reflected upon his year as chairman, discussed association accomplishments and initiatives and graciously thanked fellow bankers, family and friends for their support.
