On June 5th and 6th we took some of our own advice and participated in our 5th company -wide retreat. You may have noticed we were closed for two days in the middle of the week. We hope it did not cause anyone any inconvenience, but we know communication is the backbone and strength of every company and it is very important that everyone participate.
Our retreat was held in Leavenworth, WA and included activities, great food and even a little time to meet and discuss business. Everyone was assigned to a committee and boy... did our committees come through for us! The activities committee started us off with GOLF, of course. However, it was a championship putting course. Our low personal gross winner was... Bill Fitchitt. Our low gross team winner was the team of Lisa Clark, Tammy Opheim, Sue Benedict and the absent Jolene Benson. Pamela Griffin was the winner of the high gross for the day (sorry Pamela)! Next, the food committee set us to work on dinner. They assigned everyone a job and did not let anyone out of kitchen clean-up duty! Dinner was gourmet!!!
The next day we focused on the firm and our plans for the coming years. Our major topics included marketing and workflow efficiencies. One thing we know for sure is that most of our new clients come from existing clients. We took time to brainstorm ideas of how we could communicate to our clients that we are always interested in more clients, just like them. Then after reviewing and discussing our office procedures, we had 100% agreement to become a paperless office over the next year. To our surprise, once the hurdles and options were revealed, everyone could see that the best way to service our clients was to use all the technology available. We have formed a committee, and will be working on the software selection and transition over the summer.
It seems everyone left feeling energized and enthused about our future!!!!
