The S. Dale High Center for Family Business at Elizabethtown College, formerly known as the Elizabethtown Family Business Center, was featured in the August 10th issue of the Central Penn Business Journal.  McKonly & Asbury has been a proud sponsor of the Center for over five years, sharing in its mission, "to serve and strengthen families in business through succession planning, family leadership training and legacy building."

The Family Business Center at Elizabethtown College was founded in 1995 around a goal to help family businesses find the tools and resources they need to conquer their unique challenges.  The Center has grown to over 45 businesses with collective annual revenues of more than $2 billion.  Topics of prime concern to the Center's members include succession planning and leadership and development.

The Center is currently accepting new members and the benefits are innumerable.  The Center for Family Business has developed unique programs with the specific goal of providing material and information useful in day-to-day activities as well as long range planning.  The Center regularly holds seminars exploring topics from succession planning to best business practices and featuring industry acclaimed guest speakers such as Frank Perdue, Jr. who recently shared the stories behind the Perdue family's business. Members also have opportunities to join smaller groups, allowing for greater interaction with fellow business owners and next-generation leaders with similar interests and job capacities.

The S. Dale High Center for Family Business Center is funded through dues and contributions from member businesses as well as corporate sponsorships from firms like McKonly & Asbury.  Sponsors provide much more than just monetary donations.  Many are actively involved in the affinity groups and help with the selection and delivery of seminars.  They also meet with members to address specific needs. McKonly & Asbury provides consultation on issues such as business valuations, estate tax planning and more to the Center's members.  To learn more about the Center and membership opportunities, visit the Center's website at http://www.centerforfamilybusiness.org/
