Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) were portrayed as current leaders in exposing fraud in a new episode of "The Profiles Series." The show aired as an educational program nationwide on August 1, 2007 on Bravo. The show featured the efforts of CFEs who, as members of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), are considered the first line of defense against corporate abuse and fraud.
The show was hosted by Lou Gossett Jr. and included interviews with former chair of the ACFE Board of Regents Corey Anne Bloom, CFE, CA, CA•IFA and the ACFE founder and Chairman Joseph T. Wells, CFE, CPA. It focused upon the devastating impacts of fraud and why its detection and prevention are so urgent.
The MCI/WorldCom fraud - America's largest bankruptcy fraud case - and millions of others were investigated by CFEs. Because they are so knowledgeable in the four major areas of fraud (financial transactions, legal elements of fraud, fraud investigation, and criminology and ethics), CFEs are considered to be leaders in the global anti-fraud community. The more than 19,000 CFEs actively fighting fraud today are making a huge impact in government and business.
"The Profiles Series" strives to educate consumers and business professionals on those issues that impact them. More information can be found at www.profilesseries.com.
