Eric J. Barr, CPA, a Partner in the Firm of Lazar Levine & Felix LLP, was installed as the President of the Jewish Community Housing Corporation (JCHC) of West Orange, NJ on June 16th at an event held at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ. The three year term follows a one year term as President-Elect. Eric has been involved with the organization for many years.
"The JCHC was formed over 25 years ago and continues to make a profound difference in the lives of the elderly members of our community, many of whom have special needs." says Barr, "My experience with JCHC has been inspiring and deeply rewarding. Eric Barr has over 35 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in the areas of matrimonial accounting, business valuations, complex commercial litigation, forensic accounting, fraud investigation and SEC compliance as well as traditional accounting and audit for the construction, transportation, retail, healthcare, manufacturing/distribution, not-for-profit, professional services, real estate, technology and wholesale industries.
In addition to his work at the JCHC, Eric is involved in the community as Chairman of the Financial Oversight Committee of Temple Emanuel of West Essex and is actively involved in the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
The JCHC, founded in 1982, provides housing, programs, and services for the independent elderly in our community. They have developed and manage more than 600 apartments in 5 buildings for older adults in West Orange, Irvington, South Orange, and Whippany. These facilities continue to meet the needs of MetroWest seniors with a traditional lifestyle, quality accommodations and Kosher food.
