NEARS

The earlybird deadline for our April 24 QuickBooks Seminar for Beginners
is this Friday, April 18
.

Registration is open online
for the second phase of this year's quarterly QuickBooks Can! seminars.

Due to a recent Windows update some QuickBooks users are finding their 2008 QuickBooks software does not open when it should. Common symptons include:

  • The QuickBooks splash screen flashes, and then goes away on launch
  • On launch of QuickBooks, an error message says that the Web Connector has failed to initialize

QuickBooks technical support has alerted its ProAdvisors that a Windows update released last week may be triggering problems for some 2008 QuickBooks users. Here is an article from QuickBooks technical support regarding this error:

What is happening
After installing a Windows Update from Microsoft, QuickBooks does not open. The Loading QuickBooks splash screen appears briefly or flashes on the screen, and then disappears.

Why is this happening
This issue is caused by a damaged component of Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

Detailed Instructions
To resolve this issue, remove Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and reinstall it. Select the option for your Windows operating system.

Please contact our ProAdvisors, Lisa Furr or Adam Cusumano, if you are experiencing this issue and would like to resolve it. If you have general QuickBooks questions or would like to schedule a consultation with the SN Business Solutions Accounting Software Team, please contact Lisa or Adam at 717-757-6999 or 800-745-8233, or email either of them by using the form below.
