Grassi & Co. is keeping busy in after-tax season mode. We have a number of events coming up in the near future. We will be appearing at three upcoming trade shows, conducting a few seminars, and continuing firm-wide networking throughout Long Island and New York City.

The three upcoming trade shows are the Hauppauge Industrial Association's 20th Annual Long Island Business Trade Show & Conference, the 2008 Long Island Legal & Business Expo, and BuildingsNY. The HIA Trade Show is Thursday, May 22nd from 9:00AM-4:00PM at the Suffolk County Community College Sports & Exhibition Complex (LIE Exit 53 - Wicks Rd). The 2008 Long Island Legal & Business Expo is being hosted the day before, on Wednesday, May 21st by State Bank of LI in partnership with the Nassau County Bar Association & Suffolk County Bar Association. The expo will take place at the Huntington/Long Island Hilton on Route 110, Melville from 9:00AM-4:00PM. Our technology division, GCM Systems, will be appearing at BuildingsNY, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, June 17th and 18th. We are very excited to take part in these great events and look forward to seeing you there!

Other upcoming Grassi events include:

"Affordable Housing in New York": Presented by Lorman Educational Services, Joel E. Ackerman, CPA, MST, Tax Principal at Grassi & Co. will discuss Tax Advantages and Strategies for Housing Construction. This seminar, on Tuesday, May 13th, is designed for attorneys, real estate owners, developers, brokers, managers, project managers, finance directors, lenders, and other professionals that work in real estate-related areas. We have also just completed a few very successful events including:

"Commercial Real Estate Hot Spots": Presented by CLE Abstract, Joel E. Ackerman, CPA, MST, Tax Principal at Grassi & Co. discussed the advantages of Cost Segregation Studies. This seminar was designed for attorneys and CLE credit was available.  The event was this morning, Wednesday, April 30th, 2008 at the Yale Club in New York City.

"It Can Happen to You: Keys to Early Fraud Detection & Prevention": This seminar, presented by Grassi & Co. and JPMorgan Chase in April, discussed how to detect and prevent fraud before it becomes a problem. The event, presented by the Architecture & Engineering specialty groups, was a huge success.
