June 18 is the last date to order Windows XP on a Dell laptop, desktop, or workstation with an OEM Windows XP license. As dictated by the Microsoft® Windows' Life-Cycle policy, license availability for Windows XP will end on June 30, 2008. According to Dell, June 18 is the last date an order can be submitted to comply with Microsoft's June 30 shipping deadline.

After June 18, buyers have the option to purchase Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate with a downgrade service to Windows XP Professional. Those who consider transitioning to Windows Vista are cautioned by Dell to make the change not because they feel it is necessary, but because they desire to.

A software comparison chart is also available.

If you have questions about ordering Windows XP or if you want to take advantage of the Stambaugh Ness Business Solutions Dell Partnership discount when ordering new hardware, please contact Ken Saxe, MCSE, MCSA, MCP, CNE at 717-757-6999 or 800-745-8233, or send him an email by using the form below.  Along with the many technical services offered, SNBS also provides Internet and website consulting services.
