We are proud to highlight an upcoming seminar that the National Business Institute (NBI) will be holding on September 8, 2008, which will feature one of McKonly & Asbury's own! Jane McCurdy, Tax Manager here at McKonly & Asbury, will be a member of the faculty involved in this seminar which is focused on how to keep tax-exempt organizations in compliance.
Jane will be discussing nonprofit accounting and maintaining tax-exempt status. Also included in the faculty are Michael Cherewka, who will give an introduction to tax-exempt organizations; Guy Beneventano, who will be discussing the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley and the era of corporate governance on nonprofit organizations; and Suzanne Friday, who will discuss intermediate sanctions and dealing with unrelated business income.
This basic-to-intermediate level seminar provides an overview of the complex laws governing tax-exempt organizations for: Attorneys, Accountants, CFOs, Executive Directors, Trustees, Controllers, Tax Managers, Enrolled Agents, and Financial Planners.
