Four members of the Stambaugh Ness staff are serving in new positions on community organization Boards of Directors.
Tax Manager Eric Schmiedel, CPA, has been named President of The York County Estate Planning Council. He has been a member of the organization for more than eight years and was elected to the Board in 2004. He served as treasurer two years ago then vice-president last year.
As a Tax Manager working with closely-held corporations and small business owners, Eric provides high-quality tax compliance and planning services to a diverse client base covering trucking companies, auto dealers, wholesalers, professional service providers and not-for-profit entities.

 Darren Welker |
Shareholder Darren Welker, CPA, CIA is now a member of the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center. He has been serving on the Finance Committee for the past year.
Darren is also a Board of Directors member for the York Day Nursery and plans to be involved in the development and implementation of a Fund Development Plan. He has been involved with this organization since 2003 and has been treasurer and chaired the Finance Committee since that time.
During his 13-year career, Darren has served clients in various capacities in the accounting and auditing practice. Most recently, Darren has had an active role in developing and advancing the firm's Risk Advisory and Outsourced Audit Services, which includes enterprise risk management, internal auditing, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, SAS-70 reviews and similar operational and control evaluations.

 Chad Bumbaugh |
Manager Chad Bumbaugh, CPA is treasurer and a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of York Board of Directors.
Chad has more than 7 years of public accounting experience with a concentration in auditing. His current work experience includes supervising and performing audits for a variety of businesses including engineering, manufacturing, agricultural and non-profit organizations, as well as various other accounting services.

 Nikki Hoffman |
Shareholder Nikki Hoffman, CPA is now serving as treasurer of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce. She has been a member of its Board of Directors since 2006.
Nikki has more than 14 years of public accounting experience and has been involved in a variety of engagements with a concentration in auditing. She has worked with many types of businesses, including engineering, manufacturing and distribution, agricultural, and pension and 401(k) plans. Nikki is the firm's Accounting and Auditing Service Line Director.
