 Beginning in 2010, taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income of $100,000 or more are faced with a unique opportunity. The unique opportunity is the ability to convert traditional IRAs to Roth IRAs. Prior to 2010, a conversion from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA was allowed only if the taxpayer's modified adjusted gross income for the year was no more than $100,000. Congress enacted this favorable legislation under the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
