Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the outgoing Senate Finance Committee Chair, told reporters on November 14, 2006 that a package of tax extenders will move through Congress in December 2006. Grassley said that although all of the details of the package had not been decided, "there's general agreement that what we've already worked out with the House would pass."

In recent years, S corporations have "exploded" in popularity, according to the IRS. Despite this, they have not been a big audit target - until recently. The IRS announced it would randomly audit 5,000 S corps and use the information gathered to learn more about tax compliance of other businesses set up this way. Here are the details.
