General Motors opened a state-of-the-art rollover crash test facility, becoming the first North American automaker to integrate in-house testing for potentially deadly rollover crashes that claim 10,000 lives a year and 40% of all fatalities.

Ford Improves Roof Strength

Child Car Safety

Although the number of crash-related fatalities for children has steadily decreased since 1975, motor vehicle crashes remains one of the leading causes of death for children. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that, on average, six children under the age of 15 years were killed and 721 were injured in crashes everyday in 2002. Most of these deaths could have been prevented.
