$24 Mil Verdict Seat Belt

In the Eastern District of Texas a Marshall, TX  jury told Honeywell International, Inc. to change the design of their JDC seatbelt buckle so that it would not unlatch in an accident.

Lauren Frazier was the the driver of a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe in 2004. She was  wearing her seat belt equip with a JDC buckle when another car struck her vehicle in the left front. The Tahoe and the other vehicle then side slapped and the Tahoe rolled over once. During the rollover, Lauren was ejected and killed.
The occupants of the other vehicle had no injuries.

PCM 101

What is a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

The onboard computer, or Powertrain Control Module (PCM), is the brains of the engine control system, so when the brain is not functioning correctly neither is the engine or anything else that the microprocessor controls - which may include the charging system, transmission, various emission controls and communications with other onboard control modules.
