LSSLC Simplifying Successful Complex Cases for Over 20 Years
ESC Verdict Against GM

A California jury ordered General Motors Corp. to pay the parents of a 7-year-old girl who was killed along with her stepmother when their sport utility vehicle rolled over.

The lawsuit claimed that GM opted to install "electronic stability control" into its luxury lines while leaving it out of its SUVs and trucks. MacKenzie and her stepmother were killed in June 2002 when their Chevrolet Suburban veered off the Interstate and flipped over. Three other people in the vehicle were injured.

GM knew the benefits of the stability control system nearly a decade before this accident. At least two lives could have been saved if it had installed it in the SUV.

OSI's Help Settle Cases

Another client has told us that the OSI spreadsheet we provided helped him to settle his case.
He was able to show a consistent and prolific problem with the product.

Other similar incidents
or OSI's can be invaluable, paying off several times more than the investment cost for securing them. LSSLC, LLC has developed a process for finding hard to get OSI's in automotive and other product liability cases. We currently have developed databases for rollover, roof crush, seat belts, seat belt retractor failure and other defective conditions for automobiles and more products.

Click "Full Article" for examples of how our clients are putting OSI material to effective use at mediation, settlement and in trial presentations.

The Americans With Disabilities Act
(ADA) prohibits job discrimination against qualified disabled individuals. The law was passed in 1990, but the number and nature of ADA cases filed each year illustrate that many employers still struggle with the concept of "reasonable accommodation." Read the "Full Article" for details of a recent case that underscores the responsibilities of employers, as well as an example of an accommodation that a court ruled was reasonable.
