Some small relief for taxpayers during the 2nd half of 2008 to soften skyrocketing gas prices; charitable giving standard mileage rate unchanged


In an attempt to reflect the pain at the pump, the IRS has announced increased standard mileage deduction rates for the business, medical and moving use of automobiles for the second half of 2008.  Unfortunately for charitable expenses, the standard mileage rate remains fixed by statute.  If you have a large SUV getting low gas mileage, these increased rates may not be sufficient.  Maybe you should consider using your actual costs.  Click on Full Article to read more.
