Summary:
The Supreme Court rarely hears cases involving tax decisions but in June, 2007, the Court agreed to hear Knight vs. Commissioner to resolve an existing conflict between the Sixth Circuit and the Federal, Second, and Fourth Circuits as well as the Court of Federal Claims.
At issue was whether trusts and estates could fully deduct the fees they pay for investment management and advisory services.
