Contractors are particularly vulnerable to the possibility of becoming victims to white collar crimes and other types of fraud. According to the recently released study of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), this is because:

 

 

-Specialists are required on the job

-A wide range of regulations

-There is significant risk involved (both financial and safety concerns)

-It is lucrative, as the annual revenue generated is estimated to be approximately $465 billion

-There are about 90,000 contractors in the United States
